Platypus facts!

A rare white platypus has been spotted multiple times near Armidale, NSW! "We have now sighted the white platypus on 10 different occasions, during the past two years," says Louise Streeting, a zoology PhD student at the University of New England. Louise and her colleagues, who frequent the area to study turtles, first encountered the white platypus back in 2021. "A white platypus surfaced right alongside us! We stared at each other in disbelief before erupting with excitement," Louise recalls.
