Writing in Roman times primarily involved the use of materials such as papyrus, parchment, and wax tablets. Papyrus, made from the stems of the papyrus plant, was widely used for documents and scrolls.Parchment, a more durable material made from animal skins, gained popularity later on. Wax tablets consisted of a wooden frame with a layer of wax on which one could write using a stylus.
