I stumbled on this illumination in a medieval music manuscript during COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, when I often ventured into recently digitized archival holdings at various institutions around the world to feed my muse because going outside was not an option. I picked up and saved this image, the way one would a flower, leaf or a rock with the intention to revisit it and do something one day.
