This client is learning to use PECS to request objects, items and activities. Phase 1 is for the learner to look at, reach for, pick up, and hand the picture/symbol to their communication partner. After a few sessions he has learnt to independently reach for the preferred picture and has associated this action with the immediate reinforcement of the requested item. The chest AKA pecs can be worked in a myriad of ways. It only takes a few minutes on social media to see that. In this video I’m focused on highlighting the upper pecs AKA clavicular fibers. One of my goals is to create more chest separation, so I’m giving the upper portion a little top shelf treatment. All it takes is raising the bench a bit and they’ll be targeted more than if you pressed with it flat. Keep in mind the steeper the incline, the more your front shoulders step into the spotlight.
