How many watts does the M1 MacBook really need?
2011年5月3日 · The 30W charger from the MacBook Air definitely doesn't have enough power to supply both USB-C and USB-A ports on my Caldigit SOHO dock. My M1 MacBook Air goes to sleep when using clamshell mode if I plug in an ethernet adapter and then a thumb drive. I guess if the charge falls off, the power circuit thinks the MBA isn't plugged in to the charger.

2023年3月12日 · The 2007 iMac only got dropped with macOS 10.12, which was released in 2016. That's 9 years of full support. The original 2008 MacBook Air, on the other hand, got dropped with macOS 10.8 which was released in 2012, so it only got 4 years of full support.

I know with iPads the X series of chips always received longer support but in the pas with the mac apple doesn’t care about hardware as much as they care about age.

2011年5月3日 · I can confirm that my Macbook Pro M1 outputs 4K/60Hz with the Apple AV adapter. The details in 'System Information' look identical to direct output with a USB-C to Displayport cable. However, some devices (eg. my Pixelbook Go) only output 4K/60Hz via Displayport, so this cable remains my preference (using a Caldigit Soho).

2024年7月16日 · My mom had a 2012 21in iMac which lasted her 9 years until 2021 when I got her an M1 iMac and an M1 MacBook Air. I expect both those devices to also last her 9 years, 2031. For me, I'm a software engineer, while my M1 MacBook Air with 8gb was fine as a temporary replacement for my 2017 intel MacBook Pro, it struggled a bit with Xcode.
