2010年1月31日 · MacBook Pro w/ 120 GB HD and 2 GB of RAM. I plan on upgrading to a samsung 500 GB 7200 RPM HD and 4 GB of RAM. The reason being is to install Windows 7 so I can have a gaming PC and my Mac for everyday tasks. I just read though that Windows 7 will not work on an Early 2006 MacBook Pro on the Apple site.

2006年8月17日 · Also you may get more life out of your macbook because lion will run on the Late 2006 and not on the early 2006. Remember if your not using your optical drive then install an optibay adapter and only buy a 64GB ssd and put your HDD in the optibay, then put your superdrive in an USB enclosure.

2015年6月8日 · The last version of OS X officially supported by Apple on the original 2006 Mac Pro MA356LL/A (MacPro1,1), 2007 Mac Pro (8-core) MA1186/A (MacPro2,1) and Xserve (Late 2006) MA409LL/A (Xserve1,1) models was OS X 10.7 Lion, and then only when booted with a 32-bit kernel due to their EFI32 firmware.

2012年8月10日 · I run Lion on a Late 2006 20" iMac, but it has considerably more power than your MacBook graphics wise. I would say stick with Snow Leopard if you want speed and for your mac to not be all that stressed, or go with Lion if you want the updates to the OS, and still supported software. Anyhow for a mac of that caliber I would go with Snow Leopard.

2015年8月4日 · The 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 with 32-BIT EFI can successfully and easily boot and run the 64-BIT version of Windows 10 (Final Release) without any major modifications. For those who care, here is my Geekbench profile. I didn't pay for Geekbench, so the results are only the 32-BIT Benchmarks, despite being run on a 64-BIT version of Windows 10.

2020年3月30日 · Most older Macs like the Late 2006 iMac only work with 32 bit versions of windows. Yes, you can create a custom windows installer to make your Mac install a 64 bit version of windows, but that once again can get complicated when it comes to drivers.

2012年2月22日 · I have a black late 2006 Macbook and just installed 2x2GB G.Skill ram (upgrade from 2x1GB Samsung). To my surprise, when I go to "About This Mac" it states that it is recognizing the full 4GB of ram. Going to system information further confirms this. I have read that the late 2006 MacBooks only recognize 3.3GB, but do they display as 4GB or 3.3GB?
