2022年6月8日 · The high tech newer sleep bags (rei, marmot, s2s, agnes, etc) are almost all VERY wimpy materials vs fire or tree branch or wetness, so the gore-tex or similar bivy (mil surplus or other) can add to the temp comfort 10-15+ degrees and give significantly more durability to a lightweight sleeping bag and/or waterproof one for winter.

If the woollen blankets measure 5 inches thick [ that's probably 8 or more blankets] then you should be good for -40 when out of the wind. Most FF bags are a little lighter (ounces) than a similar WM bag, both a great choice and will last 30 years. Both companies can sell you a 30 degree bag that weights around 24-25 ounces.

2014年1月25日 · Especially if it's a synthetic fill bag. Down bags are much better in this but you still don't want to leave them compressed. I don't care what wiggy's claims about their bags, if you care about your sleeping bag investment you won't live it compressed for extended periods of time. It should be laid flat or hung in an uncompressed way.
