2010年2月22日 · Does anyone have a solid answer on how to bill/not bill for a pt being seen for dressing change and repacking? A prior post on this site referred to 99211 example in appendix C, but that example states: "Office visit for an established patient for dressing change on a skin biopsy" (top of pg 547 in my 2010 CPT book, appendix C).

2020年9月17日 · Please include a redacted note for review in order for assistance. :) Documentation is key. Typically, repacking/dressing change is billed with and E/M code; however, if wound care was performed than CPT codes 97597, 97598 may apply.

2010年12月14日 · Patient came in to have her wound looked at and repacked. Has an abscess on her arm, that she went to the ER for because she thought it was a spider bite. We removed the gauze the ER placed and repacked it with new gauze and having patient return to do this again in 2 days. Nothing else...

My doc has been seeing this patient every other day for repacking/dressing change. The provider doesn't want that patient to have to pay a copay for being there every other day for dressing change only.

My reading of the description tells me that this code is for wound dehiscence (for example, if sutures were removed & the wound split open, or an infection/abscess developed behind a surgical incision and kept it from healing)...

2009年12月18日 · My Podiatrist just asked me if there is a code for packing a surgical wound. I have always thought that this is considered part of the surgery. He stated that there is a code that can be billed with the 58 modifier, but I can not locate that code. Any thoughts?
