2018年2月15日 · Hi. I had a Labyrinthectomy in 12/16. I had been having 2-3 severe vertigo episodes. After the surgery I was deaf in my right ear. However, the frequency and severity of the vertigo episodes only steadily declined. After about 3 months, I was episode free. Stayed that way for almost a year.

All the other came within a yr and it progressed quickly to the vertigo. I spent the last 9 mo with vertigo starting maybe 1-2 a week about 15-20 min a day to full blown wake up in the middle of the night spinning and lasting about 8-10hrs...daily! Hence the reason for the Labyrinthectomy.

Rubye, If sac decompression involves removing bone to allow for more room to expand, I had that procedure about a year ago and although I don't have vertigo or nausea episodes any longer I still have ear fullness, distorted hearing and some brain fog at times.

Rubye, I'm really sorry you're having such trouble. I've never had sac decompression. I have menieres for four years, and about two years before that I got BPPV. I attended my consultant for about a year and he made a misdiagnosis. He wanted to do a labyrinthectomy on me, but first sent me for a second opinion.

2016年9月19日 · I was diagnosed 15 months ago, and while I have not had a labyrinthectomy, I was informed of it as an alternative measure if conservative measures failed me. The oral medication/dietary change route alone, was a failure, but I'm currently experiencing a reprieve from vertigo after 9 intratympanic injections with steroids .
