Mestizo (/ m ɛ ˈ s t iː z oʊ, m ɪ ˈ-/ mest-EE-zoh, mist-, [1] [2] Spanish: or; fem. mestiza, literally 'mixed person') is a person of mixed European and non-European ancestry in the former Spanish Empire.
