Welcome to the Village of Walloon Lake, the heart of Michigan’s Ernest Hemingway connection… a revitalized yet historic village tucked in between Charlevoix, Boyne City and Petoskey along the picturesque shoreline of one of the state’s most majestic inland lakes. The Hemingway family still calls Walloon Lake home today.

Walloon Lake is a glacier-formed lake located in Charlevoix and Emmet counties, just southwestward from the northern tip of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. It is now home to many vacation homes and cottages.

Walloon Lake is located at the southeastern end of Walloon Lake in eastern Charlevoix County within Melrose Township. The community is located just north of the outlet of the lake into the Bear River. US 131 runs south–north through the eastern portion of the community.

Walloon Lake, just south of Petoskey, Michigan, is home to walleye, northern pike, perch, rock and small mouth bass and trout, too. Fisherman love the Walloon Lake area, as did Ernest Hemingway, who spent 22 summers at the family cottage nestled along the lake's shore.

4 天之前 · Walloon Lake Beach is a public access beach that is both serene and fun. Besides swimming, there is a basketball court, sand volleyball, and horseshoes. It's not your typical party beach but that's the point.
