2019年7月17日 · Usermaatre-Meryamun, or Ramesses III, was the second ruler of the Twentieth Dynasty and considered to be one of the last great pharaohs of the New Kingdom, before Egypt plunged into chaos. Being king meant that he had five royal names.

Tomb KV11 is the tomb of Pharaoh Ramesses III. It is located in the main valley of the Valley of the Kings. The tomb was originally started by Setnakhte, but abandoned when it unintentionally broke into the earlier tomb of Amenmesse (KV10). Setnakhte was buried in KV14.

The Tomb of Ramesses III, KV11 lies in the Valley of the Kings, amidst the mysterious desert sands that hold the secrets of ancient pharaohs and gods. The entrance to the tomb is a simple carving on the limestone cliffs, but it leads to a place of great significance – a pathway to eternity.

The project aims to preserve, document and publish the tomb of Ramesses III (KV 11), situated in the Valley of the Kings. Due to water damage and thousands of years of degradation processes, the rear part of the tomb has been destroyed.

Work resumed under Ramses III (1184–1153 BC), the last of Egypt’s warrior pharaohs, with the corridor turning to the right, then left. It continues deep (125m overall) into the mountain and opens into a magnificent eight-pillared burial chamber.

The tomb of Ramesses III in the Valley of the Kings has been open since Antiquity. In modern times it has attracted visitors since the 1790 publication of James Bruce’s drawings of two harpers which are depicted in a small chamber in the second corridor.

2022年8月14日 · Where is Rameses III Tomb? The tomb of Rameses III, KV11 is located in the main Valley of the Kings, Luxor West Bank of the Nile, Egypt. KV11 is side by side with the tomb of Amenmesse (KV10) and almost faces the tomb of Ramesses V, and Ramesses VI (KV9).

King Ramses III turned Tomb KV 11 axis to the west before continuing to dig new corridors southward, when he decided to complete the tomb as his own burial place. The King stands wearing the crown of Lower Egypt offering incense to gods Atum and Ptah, on the left (east) wall.
