The story of the Georgian House is the epitome of late 18th-century attitudes and ideologies towards wealth and class. In the late 1700s, this grand townhouse was at the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town development.

The Georgian House is in the centre of Edinburgh, in the New Town area of the city. It is a short walk from the west end of Princes Street. Waverley and Haymarket railway stations are within walking distance (15–20 minutes).

The Georgian House, in Edinburgh’s New Town, is set in a fine Georgian square. The house, built in 1796, was designed by Robert Adam – the foremost architect of the day – and is a wonderful example of late 18th-century classical architecture.

2023年6月2日 · Raeburn’s Edinburgh opens at the Georgian House, in Edinburgh’s Charlotte Square, on 2 June and runs until 26 November 2023. The exhibition is included in admission to the Georgian House, which is free for National Trust for Scotland members.
