2022年10月4日 · From my understanding, the only way you could not get the job after the tentative job offer is that the background investigation uncovers something alarming. Or they go into a hiring freeze between your tentative and official offer. In most cases, within 7 days of tentative you will get the official offer. And here is one pitfall I made.

Just an FYI for anyone looking through here. DO NOT put your notice in with your current employer until you get your FIRM offer from the VA. ( I didn’t put mine in) I interviewed, was selected, got my tentative offer, filled out ALL paperwork, did my background check, fingerprints, gave them 6 vials of blood and my offer was rescinded!

2022年12月6日 · In my experience, the tentative offer only meant that they want me for the job. I didn’t get any details with the TO and all the negotiations happened after I accepted it. I definitely could have backed out later and I don’t think it would hurt my reputation in any way.
