The main floor is occupied by the large, formal East and West Conference Rooms, the offices of the Marshal, an office for the Solicitor General, the Lawyers’ Lounge, and the Justices’ Conference Room and Robing Room.

Court police officers will make every effort to inform you as soon as possible whether you can expect to secure a seat in the Courtroom. Before entering the Supreme Court Building, all visitors are screened by a magnetometer and all personal belongings are screened by an x-ray machine.

The Supreme Court Building is open to the public Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on weekends and all federal holidays. In addition to the Courtroom, portions of the first and ground floors of the Supreme Court Building are open to the public.
