2022年10月8日 · Season 1 which is from 1999-2001 is cel animated and the coloring/finalization is done physically by hand on the celluloid sheet itself whereas the newest season season 12(and 13) is animated the same way by cel but the finalization/coloring is done DIGITALLY on a computer 🖥️, so season 1’s(1999-2001) animation is actually still the same for the main show …

Yup, I would absolutely agree SpongeBob seasons 1-3 is the greatest cartoon of all time. Seasons 4 & 5 have their moments, but the major cutoff for me is when Stephen Hillenburg left after season 3. He just had such a special sense of humor and direction that I start to miss as soon as I watch season 4.

Modern Spongebob does in fact have really fluid animation, but il always prefer the style seasons 1 and 2-4 had, season 5 up to season 8 had more “rough” -ish animation and simplified the character expressions at times
