Through four departments and in partnerships with our own research centers, and other units across the Manoa campus, SOEST offers 15 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, covering a wide range of earth, ocean, and planetary science disciplines.

SOEST faculty and staff are recognized as international leaders in research, innovation, and education on topics as varied as renewable energy, oceanography, coral reef ecology, volcanology, remote sensing, cosmochemistry, tropical meteorology and climate modeling.

Through an integrated, comprehensive, and sustained system of Earth and planetary observations, research, and education, SOEST staff work to transform the way people live on Earth by enabling a healthy public, economy, and planet.
