2010年1月20日 · Has anyone ever built a shed/cabin on a skid foundation? I'm designing my 12' x 12' cabin with loft, either gable roof with 8:12 or greater pitch, or a single pitch shed roof. The plan is to have two skids with a 10' centerline separation. I am trying to figure out sizing for the skids.

2008年5月14日 · I'm wondering about building a 10'x18' structure on a skid foundation that would serve as a temporary dwelling until a larger dwelling could be built. I wouldn't plumb it but I would want to insulate it, including the floor, and use a small woodstove for heat.

This was shown as an option for small structures that might be dragged around a property to different locations if needed.

2025年2月7日 · You do need to get the pilings to solid rock for a firm foundation or risk movement. Expect to spend some $$$. We have expanding clay in my neighborhood of Texas. . . The soil can expand, contract vertically up to 12". A proper concrete pier and beam foundation for an average home costs $40-50,000. Foundation repair is big business here. /
