Samia Suluhu Hassan (/ sɑːmiɑː suluhu hɑːssɑːn / ⓘ SAH-mee-ah soo-LOO-hoo HA-san; born 27 January 1960) is a Tanzanian politician who has been serving as president of the United Republic of Tanzania since 19 March 2021. She is the first woman to serve in the position.
