Paying $800 a month for climate controlled storage for all 3 PODS, and it will cost about $10K to have them delivered once we settle on a place. That was about the same monthly cost as a normal storage unit in the area.

2012年2月12日 · I'm am using a storage pod to move to another state. I hired movers to help me unload at my new place. I loaded everything with a friend. I know that i'm supposed to tip, i'm just not sure how much since it's such a small cube, and it really won't take long to unload it. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Our household goods need to put into storage for 1 or more months and using containers seems like a good idea to avoid handling things twice. PackRat provides one month free climate controlled storage which was the deciding factor for us.

PODS is under contract with the seller, not with me. How do I even leverage the aspect of the POD being my property-Brian

2018年6月6日 · Professional Movers do not offer Insurance. They offer an Extension of Liability. Depending on the state you're in, The minimum ranges from $0.30 - $0.60 per lb, per article. Anything ontop of this minimum carrier liability is the extension, and is something that you would be paying a premium for.

There are many companies providing these services. Most people on this forum seem to recommend ABF U-Pack. A few questions to those with experiences having their posessions moved in pods.

2007年7月6日 · PODS refused to drop off at my Chicago address even when I told them there was plenty of space on my driveway to do it. I do believe you need a permit to place an object like a storage pod or (more often) a dumpster on the street. You might try to get in contact with Streets & Sanitation to find out what the deal is.

2020年5月16日 · The containers can get really hot. So can moving vans. Both are under the sun's rays from beginning to end. You could consider shipping the DVDs etc. by USPS or UPS. Yes, they will spend a lot of time in a truck, but they will have a "break" at distribution centers and they might travel faster than any POD- type container.

2015年2月23日 · Our current plan is to sell our home in NJ and rent in CC while we find a house to purchase. Hopefully, only a month or two at most. Under these conditions, it seems like a container move using Pods, Pack-Rat or similar might be the way to go. The container(s) are packed once and stay in storage until they are needed at the new house.
