Mount Healthy, Ohio, is a quaint city with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1817. Originally named "Mount Pleasant," the city changed its name to Mount Healthy in 1850 after surviving a cholera epidemic, a testament to its resilience and spirit.

Mt. Healthy began its life in 1817 as a small settlement called Mt. Pleasant. Situated approximately halfway between Cincinnati in the south and Fort Hamilton in the north, Mt. Pleasant saw many travelers along its main street, which later became Hamilton Avenue.
