This stuff is INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE, because it use a special rot resistant wood called Okoum?. It is difficult to find. The good news, is that it requires no coating to be rot resistant.

This plywood does not share the same characteristics of being void free as normal "marine" plywood does, but it's still a marine plywood.

You're going to glass it anyway, so if the plywood is fracturing on the outer (convex) face you may be able to bend it most of the way, then glass it, then bend it the rest of the way. The outer face is under tension, the inner face is under compression.

2009年4月10日 · Re: marine plywood... necessity or not? I've been using marine plywood...my local Lowes was able to order it in for about $55/sheet (1/2''). The extra strength due to the 5 plies to me is worth the extra cost. If you were talking like $100/sheet or more I wouldn't mess with it.

It has far fewer voids than exterior ply, waterproof glue, and a beautiful one side finish. It is also called sign board and used by sign companies for exterior signs.
