B lymphocytes: how they develop and function
2008年9月1日 · B cells outside the marrow are morphologically homogenous, but their cell surface phenotypes, anatomic localization, and functional properties reveal still-unfolding complexities. Immature B cells exiting the marrow acquire cell surface IgD as well as CD21 and CD22, with functionally important density changes in other receptors.
B cell - Wikipedia
B cells, also known as B lymphocytes, are a type of white blood cell of the lymphocyte subtype. [1] They function in the humoral immunity component of the adaptive immune system. [1] B cells produce antibody molecules which may be either secreted or inserted into the plasma membrane where they serve as a part of B-cell receptors. [2]
B Cells: Types and Function - Cleveland Clinic
What are B cells (B lymphocytes)? B cells are a type of white blood cell that makes infection-fighting proteins called antibodies. B cells are an important part of your immune system, your body’s defense against harmful pathogens (viruses, bacteria and parasites) that enter your body and make you sick.
Histology, B-Cell Lymphocyte - StatPearls - NCBI Bookshelf
2024年10月13日 · B cells or B lymphocytes (bursa-derived cells) are essential components of adaptive immune response, primarily responsible for humoral immunity in mammals. B-cell production in humans is a lifelong process that starts in the fetal liver, intrauterine, and bone marrow after birth.[1]
B lymphocytes: how they develop and function - PMC
B-cell development. The figure shows the broad outline of B-cell developmental stages in mice and humans. B-1a, B-1b, and B10 populations are less well characterized in humans. CLP indicates common lymphoid progenitor; SHM, somatic hypermutation; and CSR, class switch recombination. Illustration by A. Y. Chen.
B cells in human lymphoid structures - Oxford Academic
2022年11月12日 · In this review, we consider the zonal structure of lymphoid tissues, the B cell subsets they contain, and how these are regulated. We also discuss the impact that methods of deep interrogation have made on our current knowledge base, especially with respect to studies of cells from dissociated tissues.
B cell (B lymphocyte)- Definition, Types, Development, …
2021年4月9日 · B cell or B lymphocyte is a type of lymphocyte (white blood cells) involved in the humoral immunity of the adaptive immune system as they differentiate into plasma and produce antibodies. Besides, B cells are also considered professional antigen-presenting cells as these can detect antigens present on the surface of bacteria and viruses.
Lymph Node | British Society for Immunology
Each human lymph node is up to 20mm in diameter, and is divided into compartments. Each compartment has important functions in enabling communication between lymphocytes. The outer layer (Cortex) contains the B-cell areas, or follicles. The middle layer (Paracortex) is mostly populated by T cells and dendritic cells (Figure 1).
B cell follicles and antigen encounters of the third kind
2010年10月19日 · A striking feature of lymphoid tissue anatomy is that the B cell follicles are situated directly opposite the portals of antigen entry: lymph node follicles are located beneath the...
Lymph node B lymphocyte trafficking is constrained by anatomy …
2012年1月26日 · B lymphocyte recirculation through lymph nodes (LNs) requires crossing endothelial barriers and chemoattractant-triggered cell migration. Here we show how LN anatomy and chemoattractant receptor signaling organize B lymphocyte LN trafficking. Blood-borne B cells predominately used CCR7 signaling to …
