An induction loop system consists of one or more loops of wire, driven by an amplifier, to produce a magnetic field. When audio is input into the amplifier, this magnetic field fluctuates.
An inductive loop is basically a metal detector installed in the surface of the roadway. It consists of electrical wire embedded in the roadway, which establishes a magnetic field around the wire whenever a current of electricity is passed through it. This field extends approximately 48” (detection height) above the loop.
Loops may be Round (shown) or Square (see detail). Square (Type 2) and Round (Type 3) Loop wiring is identical, with the exception of the shape of the sawcuts. See Standard Plan J-50.10, J-50.11, or J-50.12 for sawcutting details (as applicable). See Standard Plan J-50.05 for splice details. LOOP SERIES LETTER (TYP.) 2C(SH) CABLE SPLICE (TYP.)
See table for number of turns. All loop lead in wires shall return to the junction box. Cable identification sleeves shall be verified before splices are installed. Detector Loop Wire shall meet the requirements of Standard Specification Section 9-29.3(2)F unless otherwise required by the Contract. FA A SA SPLICE SPLICE (TYP.)

The PDA200E is a cost-effective induction loop amplifier that is designed to drive a perimeter loop of up to 200 square metres. It provides the following key features:
To select the proper wire for the loop(s), refer to the following chart. Wire resistance of each loop needs to be 0.5 - 1.5 Ω as required by the amplifier. * Flat copper wire is more efficient than single conductor stranded wire at audio frequencies. This allows the maximum length to be greater than the length calculated using the DC resistance.
A double wire loop (also known as a “2 turn series loop”) is sometimes used to boost an induction loop system’s signal strength and/or optimize electrical impedance matching.
This guide is intended to give an introduction to the 4K series and VR4K series Induction Loop module and show how to connect the Induction Loop to any of the following 4K series, VR4K series and other VR digital speaker modules:
Loop systems take an audio signal and transmit it as a magnetic field into a space where hearing aids can receive the signal and convert it back to high quality audio. The simplest form of loop is a perimeter loop, shown in this diagram to illustrate how a loop system works: Audio Inputs 1, either from an existing audio
