2023年7月1日 · Pretty much exactly what it says - a character is hurt and then comforted by another character. It can be physically, mentally or emotionally. Other similar tags are "hurt/no comfort" (character is hurt but not comforted) and "comfort/no hurt" (only the comfort part of hurt/comfort, usually quite fluffy).

To me, hurt/comfort is pretty much what it says on the tin. Someone is hurt and then conformed. Sometimes it's as extreme as your examples, sometimes it's very minor. Usually the comfort is from the love interest. So if the brother and wife don't get together in your fic, I probably wouldn't tag it as hurt/comfort. (Though I could be wrong ...

2022年2月3日 · "Hurt/comfort" is a very specific genre where one character is hurt, usually physically, though it could also be emotionally hurt, and some people also use it for illness; and then another character takes care of them in an emotionally intimate (often sexual/romantic, but not required) way.

Unfortunately I hardly found any hurt/comfort whumpy fanfictions. There were two or three about the scene with jim and roy. But that's pretty much it.

2020年8月8日 · Hurt/comfort speaks for itself, someone in the fic gets hurt and gets comfort. Whump is where the hurt is more extreme but they still get comfort. So for example a hurt/comfort might be character A is sick and character B cares for them.

Hurt/comfort is one of my favourite things ever honestly but for particular situations that I like I'm not sure if this counts but hurt/comfort is best served in the 'try to dumbass your way out of confronting your feelings stage' of enemies to lovers where the ship is a hero/villain one, mixed with injuries/sickfic where hero is like 'no but ...

For me hurt/comfort is determined by the end-state of the character at the conclusion of the fic. If the hurting character got some comfort but it all goes sideways with a bleak ending, I would consider that to qualify as "no comfort".
