2006年9月3日 · a word of caution to those who do filter out used oil.While it is possible to filter oil the additive added by the original manufacturer will not be present and nolonger do it's job. things like anti-foaming agents ,detergents, and a whole host of other goodies do break down from heat and age. so the oil will not be "good as new".

After the soak, we strain through cotton cloth and then run through coffee filters. It will not run through a filter prior to being strained though, the fine hairs will almost immediately clog the filter.

2015年3月7日 · Ceramic filters (Doulton, etc.) typically have granulated carbon inside as a secondary filter media. IIRC, that is held in place with a small screen (brass?). When you first use a ceramic filter, there will be visible carbon fines in the filtered water. That continues for quite a while, just not at the same levels.

2013年10月11日 · Coffee filters are pretty coarse. Problem is, that with what you describe, a micron filter will clog quickly. A centrifugal separator (cream separator) might work to speed the process. Or... you could try pool shock, which is pretty intense and a 1 lb bag will floc out the world in a day or two if you have a good sized cistern.
