Commando most of the time When the temp drops even further, like 10 F or colder, I put on a pair of boxer briefs on under them. That way I have the underwear layer, the tights, and then my running shorts. This is usually enough to feel nice from 0 to 15 degrees F.

I don't know about others so ill just speak for myself here. I go commando maybe 90-95 % of the times. Yes, the boys do dangle around with no undergarments on. I suppose what you're describing is possible only if the pants are super tight. I don't do that. My pants aren't exactly baggy but they're pretty roomy where it matters.

Work pants and jeans don't usually wear well when commando. Second, if you have an issue - such as a tear or a spill of something unpleasant (or potentially toxic/harmful) you can still be socially "decent" while wearing underwear. If you rip your pants at work while going commando, you'll have the whole world looking into your big brown eye.
