2015年4月21日 · New to the site as of today. Been reading literally all day today. My brother and I just got a 250 gallon propane tank and we're going to start our reverse flow smoker build tomorrow. Figured I'd start a thread now as I will be posting pictures of the progress as we get various things done.

2015年6月8日 · 7. How far inside the tank should the smoke stack chimney be. Some say running it down to the cooking grate area to help with draft. Mine just enters into the tank upper right hand corner above the top grate. This is one of the things I would do differently if I build another RF cooker, put the exhaust coming out at lower grate level.

2015年9月27日 · The recommended firebox size for a 250 gallon tank is 19,250 cubic inches. I was planning on using a box size of 25” high x 30” wide” x 26” long (19,500 cubic inches). I had to reduce the height of the box due to my concerns over ground clearance.

2013年5月16日 · I have had the 250 gal tank filled with dawn soap and water for a week now and the smaller tank still has propane in it. I was planning on using some of the propane in the smaller tank along with a weed burner attachment to burn out the 250 gal tank then i will remove the propane and connectors and let it soak for a while too. 05sprcrw-

2017年9月17日 · Today I picked up a 300 gallon fuel tank and an old pop-up camper frame for my build. That's all the further I have gotten today mechanically. Since arriving at home, I have started to calculate all of the dimensions on my smoker utilizing several forum posts, especially DaveOmak's, thanks Dave!

2006年8月14日 · Here's a tip from a coworker of mine. Some propane tanks have a set limit on their useful life. Others are just relegated to the junk pile and may sit on the gas operators property just taking up space. Usually the 250 gallon and under size range falls into this category.

2013年12月18日 · Went by to pick up the tank today and the guy offered to cut the end off for me and make it into a fire pit even throwing in the steel for the legs. Only drawback is time, 2 weeks, but hey I can wait.
