2021年2月11日 · In the early 1970s, most of the motorcycle manufacturers had one or two of those goals nailed down, but rarely all three. Then, in 1973, BMW released the R90S. It was a big step forward for BMW, but not as hyped today in the same way as the Kawasaki Z1 900, the Norton Commando, or the Ducati SuperSport.
1974 R90/6 Ignition Switch Question - Adventure Rider
2014年4月30日 · First off let me say hello. I am new here and new to BMW's. In fact this is my first bike with electric start! So, I have this 1974 R90/6 and I am trying to figure out some electrical issues. It has a 3 position ignition switch, off and 2 on positions. I have parking lights in the first on position but will not start.

2014年5月21日 · Taking a reasonably stock R90S of any year and modifying it with a later motor would be considered a mortal sin by many, but putting a hot rod 77 R100RS motor into the 74 R90S that you’re looking at just might be considered salvation instead. To bring that bike back to a nice R90S would take a big commitment of time and money.

New pistons, valves, bearings, seals, gaskets, wires, hoses, cables, just about everything from end to end. It comes with a box of parts, mostly /6 era but probably some other airhead stray items.

2012年1月5日 · Wiring diagrams are year specific instead of model specific for this era. 1974 is R60/6 thru R90S. 1975 and 1976 are the same, R60/6 thru R90S. Then the wiring changes again in 1977 and again in 1978 and again in 1979-80. These changes may have not been much, I'm not sure. They certainly do share a lot of common traits.

2009年11月14日 · It'll be OK without them, but you probably won't notice any improvement in power. The R90S head is virtually identical to the R90/6, other than the different inlet stub. The bigger bang mainly came from the higher compression pistons. You may even find the Dells less easy to live with than the Bings . . . .
