2024年11月7日 · Welcome to reef2 reef! What size tank are you considering? Those animals need a much larger tank than the 180 gallon I often see mentioned as a “minimum”. And it can be very difficult to rehome an animal that’s outgrown your tank. Typically, public aquaria won’t take them. I’ve wanted a shark tank since I was like 8 years old.

2018年12月4日 · I wouldnt recommend a shark in a reef tank tho, very messy eaters require alot of attention to get them to eat from the beginning and if healthy will grow very fast. Ive had Marble and coral sharks, nurse sharks, black tip reef sharks and in my new tank a pair of banded sharks that hatched together. always fun at first then regret later.

2020年1月8日 · After doing some hunting around for information, I learned that shorttails need around a 96"x48" footprint (and at 30" tall, equates to 600 gallons). As a larger shark, Epaulettes would most likely need a larger footprint tank as adults. Now...could you keep an epaulette shark in a 185 while it was still growing out a bit? Definitely.

2019年10月18日 · You need to stay on top of nitrogen in tank and Tank size . . . . . You can't keep a 2 foot shark in a 6 foot tank. Even a 3 foot shark when it reaches that size will need something along the lines of a 12 foot round tank at 6 feet deep to meet its' swimming behavior.

2020年3月28日 · In other words a reef which is raised up off the aquarium floor, to have large caves the shark. Ocellated Epaulettes get too big as adults to be reef safe. And an adult Bamboo sharks tend to like bulldozers in a reef tank - not good.

2023年8月28日 · I would imagine a lantern shark can technically be /kept/, if one can be somehow brought to the surface alive and healthy. Thing is, that's never been done. If no public aquarium or research facility in the world keeps the fish, I would expect the fish is probably not available for sale anywhere. Like most deep sea life.

2022年6月26日 · Although a 300-gallon aquarium(8 ft. long x 2.5 ft. wide x 2 ft. tall) or saltwater pond(6 ft. diameter) would be a much better option. Now the sharks which are sometimes called Cat sharks are actually the Bamboo sharks (genus -Chiloscyllium) and will get between 30-54 inches/76-137 cm in length.

2023年6月8日 · Just purchased a 6 inch Banded Cat Shark. Housing in a 180 (72x24x31) until I can get the new aquarium built. Looking for ideas. Looking at a 60x60x24 tall perimeter euro braced glass tank custom from Glass Cages. 370 gallons with Island overflow, 6 schd 80 bulkheads, 56x22x21 euro braces sump on a steel stand with 1.5 thick beams.
