The Pacers were the most successful team in ABA history, winning three ABA Championships in four years. In all, they appeared in the ABA Finals five times in the league's nine-year history, which was an ABA record.

The Indiana Pacers in 1973-74 were the ABA's first 3-time Champions, as well as the first back-to-back Champions. McGinnis continued to dominate (25.9 ppg., 15.0 rpg., including a team record 37 rebounds against Carolina on January 12th).
