All systems shall be tested at the test pipe to determine that water-flow detecting devices, including the associated alarm circuits, are in proper working order. Dry pipe systems shall deliver water to the inspector’s test pipe in not more than 60 seconds. USBC-BOCA 1993 section 906.9.5 stated the same as 1990 BOCA section 1004.9.5.

2019年10月17日 · Fully testing a dry sprinkler system once per year is a routine and important part of a fire safety compliance plan. Dry sprinkler tests ensure that these systems can provide reliable fire protection when temperatures drop below freezing and they prevent expensive property damage.

Capitol Fire Protection’s routine NFPA 25 sprinkler system inspection of a dry pipe system includes a trip test of the dry pipe valve with the control valve partially open (called a “partial trip”) which meets the requirement for the first 2 out of 3 years.

Every three years and whenever the system is altered, the dry pipe valve or pre-action valve shall be trip tested with the valve fully open and the quick opening device, if provided, in service. The time required for water to pass through the inspectors test shall be measured and recorded.
