2011年11月25日 · Ive found the Amtrak buses to be very nice- not at all like the greydog of yore. In California at least they are new, upholstered and comfortable, usually with plenty of room. I just did the three hour bus leg from Santa Barbara to Bakersfield, and the bus even had wifi.

The bus had the operators' markings - I think Silverado Stages. However, their website hints that they also operate buses with Amtrak California markings.

These are Amtrak charters, not public buses, so you will only ride with other Amtrak passengers. You could also avoid this bus segment if you wanted to by taking train 171 to NYP then Empire Service train 283 to ALB.

2004年5月11日 · As BNSF mentioned, Amtrak does not actually operate the buses, They contract out with different bus companies, including Greyhound and other local bus companies. Therefore what may be true for one Thruway bus run, will not be true of the next one since each company decides what type of bus to use.
