2021年9月30日 · YIO is 4 (passionate) guys... and customer support is where; hard to see this going anyplace w/o some major backing - and who might do that? The hi end companies like Control4 just buy these guys up and kill off products. I certainly don't want to depend on an installer for programming my automation (as most Logitech owners would agree with).

2021年10月1日 · I personally am very happy that even with the Harmony line being discontinued, we have two different interesting options - the YIO Remote 2 and the Sofabaton X1. I personally think the Sofabaton X1 will be able to replace the entry-level Harmony remotes quite well and the YIO should be a good replacement for the higher-end and hub-based remotes.

2023年6月7日 · The YIO remote has apparently been in the works now for a couple of years but Covid and the supply chain catastrophe appears to have really slowed the whole thing down. I found them fairly late so added my info to their reservation list, and noted they claim they'll start contacting people right about now.

2023年7月13日 · Sorry to make another post about the YIO but I am just so incredibly frustrated with my Sofabaton X1. In my HT post here I talked about how while rough around the edges, the sofabaton did its job for me. I think I just had the rose colored glasses from finally setting up my HT, or it genuinely became a crappier device. Both probably true.

2023年2月28日 · The YIO also does not have the ability to add any additional IR blasters like the Harmony Elite does either. Their is a thread about this device over on the AVS Forum where you can read some details on the device and one of the device developers participates now and then.

2023年8月17日 · Yeah it's pricey. But still dirt cheap compared to some other home automation remote systems. But not for everyone, and frankly I'm not thrilled at the notion of paying that much either... but for the functionality, including smart home integration, and zero cloud dependencies which resonates well with my personal preferences - I believe I will.

Note that the YIO 2 Remove is not open source. It's just the YIO 1 that was. The new one comes with "open interfaces" or whatever meaning that it's exactly as bad as the products that came before it. That's not as clear as it should be IMO I was very disappointed when I figured that out.

They've already released the original a couple years ago on Kickstarter, and they plan to release the Kickstarter campaign for the 2 this summer.
