The heart of the Museum is its central 1930s gauge 0 model railway layout, constructed by Chris Littledale and transplanted from the Hove Engineerium in 1991.

The Museum features a priceless model train collection including an extensive working 1930s’ three-rail ‘0’ gauge layout which is without doubt our jewel in the crown. The layout also features authentic period track side accessories and collectables.

We are an Arts Council accredited museum, and a registered independent charity (number 1001560). Registered as a charity in 1991, the Museum was based on several important collections, and was originally known as the Sussex Toy and Model Museum.
