2015年6月2日 · Utah. I have done off roading in Moab and other areas of Utah and in Colorado. Given the choice of a Sequoia or a 4Runner I will take the 4Runner since the 2015 Sequoia does not even offer locking dif. I have driven an FJ80 in places where dedicated off-roaders go and did great because of the locking dif.

2024年7月11日 · Here is my 2 cents regarding the 1st gen. I owned 2003 with the 4.7 and 4 speed automatic. Looking at my fuel logs, I averaged 14.5 mpg of mixed driving. That was pretty much the biggest drawback of owning such a large car with a V8 engine. Asides from that, it was a beast. Started every time, drove nice on a highway and even better off-road.

2023年7月25日 · Dude having had 4 toyota 4x4s with the 2nd gen Sequoia being my 4th (gen1&3 tacoma, gen1 tundra). These trucks are more Man-Vans, overlander/fire road trucks vs taking down obstacles, and technical trails.

2024年6月17日 · And will you be upgrading suspension? As that will have an effect on highway and off-road driving performance. A 2nd Gen Sequoia doesn't have a solid rear axle. Which might not be a huge concern/issue for you if you're mostly just doing forest service roads and whatnot, but something to consider. The 5.7L really is a pleasure to drive though.

2024年4月8日 · I also disagree that the TRD Sequoia is the most capable SUV Toyota makes. The TRD Sequoia has a ground clearance that is low for a 4runner, and even worse approach and departure angles (even compared to the LC200). It's especially amusing because the 1st gen Sequoia he looked down on has much better off road stats than his new TRD Sequoia.

4th gen 4 Runners are built like tanks. Look underneath and see all the boxed control arms and everything is built super durable like FJs. Our new Tacoma is built like cheap trash. I love Sequoia’s too but the spindles and ball joints don’t hold up to hard off-road use. You could spend some dough and get it there.

High torque electric motor assist for heavy towing starts or off-road slip control with a smaller but more efficient engine the rest of the time. Everyone hears hybrid and thinks Prius, but if you look at the F150 and Tundra/Sequoia hybrid designs, it's a whole new approach

The flagship Capstone trim may be dropped in favor of a possible Lexus-badged twin. Land Cruiser 250 encroaches on Sequoia territory despite having no 3rd row. Even worse for Sequoia could be the possibility of an extended wheelbase 3-row LC250/Lexus GX550.

2022年11月29日 · You can go off roaring with a 2wd but eventually you may get stuck and will spend a lot of time getting out. You may want to tag along with a group of friends with 4wd trucks. I am waiting for a good 4wd Sequoia as I rather not waste time if I am in a stuck situation. Cheapest way to convert your 2wd to 4wd is to sell and buy.
