The state Department of Motor Vehicles is encouraging New Yorkers to visit a DMV office to get a REAL ID or Enhanced ID as soon as possible, even if their license, permit or non-driver ID is not yet due for renewal.

Staten Island DMV to offer Saturday hours ahead of Real ID deadline
Beginning April 5, various DMV offices in New York City and on Long Island will offer limited Saturday hours specifically for people who are applying for a Real ID or Enhanced ID. The following DMV offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m on Saturdays starting in April:
