Kingda Ka was the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster when it first opened at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2005.
Its speed record held until 2010 ... Kingda Ka formed a formidable trio of top roller coasters — with Nitro and El Toro — that was hard to beat on the east coast, if not the entire country.
