Google is migrating Chrome browser extensions to a new specification that limits the functionality of ad blockers.

Google has been taking greater action against adblock extensions in Chrome. With the introduction of Manifest V3, an update of the Chromium browser on which Chrome is built, more adblockers are apparently being killed off.

Google Chrome users have been warned to delete 16 “malicious” browser extensions that could lead to a security threat and “fraud” at the hands of a prolific “threat actor.”
