While the Fighting Irish are ranked inside the top 10, they come into Saturday a little worse for wear, having been knocked off by fellow Big Ten programs Maryland and Ohio State. However, their solid start, including a road win over Georgetown, shows that Notre Dame is a tough team to beat.

Notre Dame lost to Florida State the same day the top 16 reveal was made. It was the second consecutive loss for the Irish following their 19-game winning streak that began on Dec. 5 with a win over Texas and ended on Feb. 23 with a double overtime loss at NC State.

The university is among 45 institutions under investigation. ND says it follows law, is commited to Catholic principle defending dignity of everyone.
