The US Department of Education on Monday sent a letter to 60 universities around the country, including several in New England, warning them of “potential enforcement actions” if they fail to protect Jewish students on their campuses.

The threat to withholding funding from schools over anti-Semitism is the latest conflict between Trump and higher education.

In a letter​ sent out Monday, the Education Department warned 60 colleges, including Johns Hopkins University, that they could lose federal funding if they fail to make campuses safe for Jewish students.

The Department of Education said IU Bloomington was one of 60 universities under investigation for "antisemitic harassment and discrimination."
