State Senate Republicans called on the legislature Thursday to “pause” a confirmation vote for Public Utility Regulatory Commission Chairman Marissa Gillett in order to make time to examine a political deal last week that moved her appointment past a key nominating committee.

Two of the General Assembly's top Republicans called upon majority Democrats to pause the re-nomination of Marissa Gillett as chair of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority on Thursday during a news conference at the Legislative Office Building.

There are calls for a pause on reappointing the chairman of the regulatory agency overseeing public utilities.
