A little over a week since being blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has opted for a fresh new look. Mahomes, who kept his iconic mohawk hairstyle all throughout the 2024 season, switched things up with a shorter cut ahead of the NFL offseason.

Mahomes told AOL in 2019 that the hairstyle was the result of a friendly bet with a buddy when he was younger. They each grew out their hair and wanted to see who would go the longest before finally cutting it. “As I grew it out, I realized that I actually liked it a lot,” Mahomes told AOL Sports. “So, I kept it going.”

A photo of Patrick Mahomes was recently posted on social media, and many fans said it was taken while the Chiefs quarterback attended his grandfather's funeral. While that has not been confirmed, Mahomes was rocking a new hairstyle in the photo, which caught the attention of hundreds of fans on social media.
