A prosecutor said Friday that the investigation into Jamison Webster's cause of death is ongoing, but there is "evidence of strangulation."

A man who allegedly killed his mother in El Cajon and then led police on a chase with her body inside the car was behind bars Wednesday, police said.

Police responding to a 911 call about a suspicious circumstance at the motel spotted the car and tried to pull over Leyva near Madison and Magnolia avenues, but he took off, leading them on a pursuit from El Cajon to Spring Valley and back to El Cajon.

Police said that the caller was checking on his mother after she didn’t return home after visiting her other son.
