Most of the rest of north Alabama will have a Level 2 risk, and a small area in the northeast corner of the state will have a Level 1 risk. If storms can develop they have the potential to be intense, especially west of Interstate 65. Tornadoes, damaging winds and hail will be possible.

There is a severe storm threat between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Damaging wind is biggest threat. Saturday will be very windy with gusts to 60 mph.

A strong storm system will bring the threat of severe weather from the Northern Plains to the Deep South, including Acadiana, and that threat is beginning to unfold this evening.
