No evidence was found against the stepfather of Kannada actress Ranya Rao and Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) K Ramachandra Rao over direct involvement in the alleged gold smuggling case.

The Karnataka government has launched an inquiry into the alleged misuse of VIP airport protocol privileges by actress Ranya Rao, who was recently arrested in connection with a gold smuggling case.
