In an attempt to get around the voltage limitation, [Tom] built his own axial flux motor for the bike, using 3D printed formers for the coils and an aluminum rotor with embedded magnets.
[Tom Stanton] wanted to build an e-bike himself, but he did it without any of the fancy electronic components. But the real gem? The weird janky motor he built to run it. The concept is simple.
Each bike is powered by a rear hub motor capable of propelling the bike ... it stores it in a 9.8-inch tall bottle-like container which is then slotted into the bicycle's frame.
