Almost two years after the first announcement, the show is finally taking a bit more distinctive shape — specifically with John Lithgow announcing he’s “said yes” to the role of Albus Dumbledore, making him the first actor to confirm for the new show.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Lithgow said that he has accepted the role of the Hogwarts head wizard in HBO’s forthcoming series: “I’ll be about 87 years old at the wrap party.”
