Google has confirmed that apps can request access to the world-facing and the selfie-camera on Android XR headsets.

Google has decided to buy part of a unit for extended reality (XR) headsets and glasses from HTC for $250 million. The deal will involve transfer some of the employees from HTC to Google.

The headset supports eye and hand tracking, Google Play Store apps, and Gemini AI integration. Samsung’s XR headset resembles the Apple Vision Pro but includes a touchpad and USB-C battery.
