British star Ralph Fiennes, known for his versatile acting, is once again in the Oscar race with his role in Conclave. Despite multiple nominations, he is yet to win the coveted award.

Two separate voters confirmed that they opted not to vote for him because ‘he won before’, Variety reports, with both mistakenly thinking he had won the best supporting actor gong for 1993’s Schindler’s List with his brutal turn as Nazi SS officer and war criminal Amon Göth.

Voters for the Oscars confessed to a stunning cardinal error. Two electors from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences didn’t vote for Ralph Fiennes to win Best Actor in a Leading Role for “Conclave” because they thought “he won before,
